In talking to a co-worker I realized she didn't like Contemporary Christian Music because all she has heard is the Steven Curtis/Amy Grant/Michael W Smith genre. (Not that there's anything wrong with that). So I decided to put together an essential gathering of some of the great Christian rock groups of the past. Here's my list of essential CCM:
Love Song (This is where it all started)
- Larry Norman (Jesus People music)
- Keith Green
- 2nd Chapter of Acts
- Phil Keagy
- Randy Stonehill
Andre Crouch (My little brother was named after Andre Crouch)
(These are later bands)
Rez Band
White Heart
Sweet Comfort Band
Petra
Who did I leave out?
Good list... How about Michael Card, John Michael Talbot, Barry McGuire and Chuck Girard.
